What is assessed before fillers?
Volume loss, facial proportions and the nature of lines are assessed together. Plans for the lips, cheeks and chin differ; tissue thickness and previous procedures influence the decision.
Product and treatment area
The clinician explains the product, its suitability for the area and the limits of the expected effect. Approval for one use does not cover every facial area or purpose.
Risks and follow-up
Discuss swelling, bruising and asymmetry as well as serious complications such as vascular occlusion. Unusual pain, skin colour changes or visual problems after treatment need urgent assessment.
Preparing for your consultation
Share the products and dates of previous fillers, allergies, medical conditions and medicines. Ask about the intended appearance, alternatives and follow-up. Results and duration vary by person and product.
Questions before your visit
How will the consultation assess volume loss, product selection and alternatives? How will any change be monitored, and what alternatives include having no procedure?
Risks and limitations
Risks depend on the product, method and treatment area. Natural, biological or nonsurgical does not mean risk-free. A published study may involve a different product, dose or route from the proposed procedure. Clarify with your clinician which use the evidence actually supports.
Care and follow-up
Bring a list of medicines and supplements, dates of previous procedures and product details if available. Do not change prescribed treatment on your own. Ask for written care instructions, a follow-up date and a contact route if a problem occurs. Session numbers, duration and outcomes require an individual assessment.
